Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main groups and several important satisfaction results, including undergraduates as the largest user category and staff helpfulness as the strongest satisfaction result. However, some figures and comparisons are inaccurate or unclear: academic staff (7%) and distance learners (8%) differ by one percentage point, but the sentence saying academic staff are “above” distance learning reverses their order. You also call wi-fi the lowest result, although journals have the lowest very-satisfied figure (45%) and the highest not-satisfied figure (20%). The overview is useful but the report does not consistently select and describe the key contrasts accurately. Check each figure against the visual and distinguish satisfaction categories when comparing results.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an opening, an overview, paragraphs on the two visuals, and a concluding sentence. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “On the categories” signal a change of focus. However, progression is uneven and some links are confusing or repetitive. “The academic staff and the distance learning had only 1% of difference with the academic above” is difficult to follow, while “the second is library opening hours” does not clearly specify which satisfaction measure is being compared. The conclusion repeats earlier points rather than synthesising them. Use clearer topic sentences and connect comparisons explicitly, for example by naming the “very satisfied” figures before comparing them.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “user satisfaction,” “availability,” and “fairly satisfied,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “got 44%,” “comes in front,” “had the last in fairly satisfied,” and “throughout the period,” which is unsuitable for a static chart. Spelling errors such as “universite,” “undergratuate,” “wheras,” and “helpulness” are also noticeable. Aim for precise reporting verbs and collocations, such as “accounted for,” “recorded,” and “the highest proportion,” and proofread key category names.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer sentences and uses basic comparison structures, but grammatical control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence boundaries and punctuation appear in “Overall,we can notice…” and in the long sentence beginning “The academic staff and the distance learning…”. Articles and agreement are also problematic, as in “the full time undergratuate had” and “the academic staff and the distance learning had,” while several clauses lack a clear grammatical relationship. The repeated use of “had” and “comes” also makes reporting less controlled. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation, then add one clear comparative clause at a time.
