Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both parts of the visual and report the main user categories and all five satisfaction areas. The figures are generally accurate, and you identify useful contrasts, such as staff helpfulness receiving 95% very satisfied responses and journals having the highest dissatisfaction at 20%. Your final overview also recognises that very satisfied responses predominate. This gives the response a clear, relevant summary, though some comparisons are less fully developed: for example, the user-category figures could be ranked more explicitly, and the overview’s claim that dissatisfaction occurs in “only in 3 out of 5 options” is less informative than identifying the strongest and weakest results. Avoid interpreting satisfaction as agreement or describing respondents as students when the table refers to library users generally. A sharper overview and more precise comparisons would strengthen the report.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a sensible overall structure: it first describes user categories, then satisfaction results, and ends with an overview. Sequencing expressions such as “On the other hand,” “In another section,” and “Lastly” help readers follow the movement through the table. The organisation is coherent, but some linking is mechanical or imprecise, and the long second paragraph presents several separate facilities in a dense sequence. The final overview repeats the general point that most users were very satisfied without clearly synthesising the strongest and weakest ratings. Use clearer grouping—for example, compare the two strongest service ratings together, then discuss books, journals and wi-fi—and ensure each transition expresses the relationship between ideas accurately. This would make progression more deliberate and cohesion less dependent on repeated sequencing phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “user satisfaction,” “availability,” “reliability,” and “very satisfied,” so the reader can understand the main subject and results. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or awkward, as in “numbers cover 44%,” “on the lower side,” “picked a negative review,” and “students minor concern.” Some terms also misrepresent the response scale: “agreed” and “average option” are not equivalent to satisfaction categories. Spelling errors such as “shwon,” “quartar,” “Subsequintly,” and “statisified” are noticeable and reduce precision. Build a more reliable set of chart-reporting phrases, such as “accounted for,” “ranked second,” “selected fairly satisfied,” and “expressed dissatisfaction,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses linked with “while” and “because.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence patterns as well as longer constructions. For example, “The survey … users are shown” has faulty agreement and passive construction, while “Full-time postgraduate students on second higher position” is not a complete sentence. There are also problems with articles, plurals and verb forms, as in “In survey,” “95% agreed on very satisfied,” and “mostly student choosed.” Punctuation is sometimes used to join separate statements, particularly in the long satisfaction paragraph. Practise complete subject–verb structures and accurate reporting patterns, such as “Forty-four per cent of users were full-time undergraduates” and “95% were very satisfied with staff helpfulness.”
