Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main user groups and give a useful overview: full-time undergraduates are the largest group, academic staff the smallest, and staff helpfulness receives especially strong satisfaction. Most figures you report are accurate, including 44%, 25% for full-time postgraduates, 8%, 7%, and the satisfaction figures for opening hours and books. However, the part-time postgraduate figure is incorrectly given as 25%; it is 16%. The table summary is also incomplete: you mention dissatisfaction with journals and Wi-Fi but omit their very/fairly satisfied proportions, and you do not clearly compare the satisfaction patterns across services. The final claim that books “needed were more important” is unclear and not supported by the data. More precise coverage of these less-developed points would strengthen the summary.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to the user categories and then the satisfaction table. This gives the reader a basic progression, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Meanwhile,” and “Last” help signal relationships. However, the final paragraph combines several service results without a clear comparison or consistent pattern, and the closing sentences repeat the point about staff helpfulness rather than drawing together the main findings. Some connections are also difficult to follow, particularly “this was postive regard” and “Overall the helpfulness of steff was ver good meanwhile availability of books needed were more important.” Organise the table details around the highest satisfaction and the areas with more dissatisfaction, and use clearer references between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “categories,” “represented,” “accounted for,” “satisfied,” and “availability,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range and control are limited, with repeated use of “users,” “library,” and “satisfied,” and several inaccurate or unclear expressions. For example, “ver best-regard services” and “postive regard” do not communicate the intended evaluation naturally, while “availability of books needed were more important” is difficult to interpret. Spelling errors such as “unversity,” “thier,” “espically,” and “steff” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise collocations such as “were very satisfied with” and “the least satisfied respondents,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more developed sentences, including the overview sentence beginning “Overall” and the contrast introduced by “while.” However, grammatical control is uneven, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “the full-time undergraduate students was,” where the plural subject requires “were,” and “the largest categories,” where the singular group should be described as a category. The sentence “The table show that 95% users were very satisfied of helpfulness of staff” also needs subject–verb agreement and more accurate article and preposition patterns. Several sentence fragments or poorly joined clauses appear in the final paragraph. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, complete sentence construction, and patterns such as “satisfied with the helpfulness of staff.”
