Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both visuals and give a relevant overview: undergraduates form the largest user group, while staff receive the strongest satisfaction ratings. Most figures are accurately reported, including the 44% and 25% user shares and the satisfaction results for staff and opening hours. However, the overview could summarise the satisfaction pattern more fully, such as noting that journals have the highest dissatisfaction (20%) and that no respondents were dissatisfied with staff or opening hours. Some comparisons are also unclear: “third last” does not accurately describe the 16% part-time postgraduate group, and “95 votes” should be presented as a percentage. A more precise overview and clearer interpretation of the table would make the key features more complete and developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to the user categories and then satisfaction results. This makes the information broadly easy to follow. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weakened by long, loosely connected sentences and inconsistent linking. For example, the final paragraph moves from books to journals, wi-fi and dissatisfaction without clearly grouping the comparisons. The repeated use of “followed by” and “in term of” also makes connections feel mechanical, while the overview sentence joins two separate points with a comma. Organise the table details into clearer comparisons and use linking phrases selectively; this would make the overall progression more controlled.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing the visuals, including “accounted for,” “portion,” “satisfaction,” and “dissatisfaction,” so the topic is generally clear. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “most numbers of visiting the library,” “second most audience,” and “make public satisfied.” “Votes” is also unsuitable for percentages in this table, and “third last” obscures the intended ranking. These choices sometimes make the meaning less precise, despite the reader being able to understand the main points. Aim for standard chart language and accurate collocations, such as “largest user group,” “share,” “respondents,” and “were satisfied with.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the main message is usually understandable. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries are frequent enough to limit accuracy. Examples include “The pie chart represent,” “Full-time undergraduates is,” and “individuals showed highly satisfy”; these need forms such as “represents,” “are,” and “were highly satisfied.” Several sentences also run together, particularly the overview and the final paragraph, with missing full stops or unclear punctuation. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and building complete sentences around each comparison. More accurate control of these basic patterns, alongside your attempts at longer sentences, would improve clarity.
