Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You report several key figures accurately, including the largest user group (full-time undergraduates, 44%), the smallest (academic staff, 7%), and satisfaction results for opening hours, staff, books, journals and Wi-Fi. However, the response does not provide a clear overall summary of the main patterns. For example, it could highlight that staff helpfulness received the strongest satisfaction rating, while journals and Wi-Fi attracted the highest dissatisfaction. Some details are also incomplete: the Wi-Fi account gives the very satisfied and not satisfied figures but omits the fairly satisfied result, and the user categories are presented without a clear comparison of the middle groups. A concise overview and more selective comparison of the main highs and lows would make the report more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response follows a broadly sensible order: it first describes the user categories and then moves to satisfaction results. This gives the reader some organisation, and words such as “but,” “while” and “However” attempt to connect contrasting information. Nevertheless, the ideas are mostly placed in one continuous paragraph, with little separation between the two chart components. The progression within the satisfaction section is also largely a list of individual figures rather than a grouped comparison, and “From all of these categories” does not clearly connect the user profile to the satisfaction data. Use separate paragraphs and organise satisfaction results around shared patterns, such as the strongest ratings and the areas with more dissatisfaction.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “full-time undergraduate,” “distance learners,” “satisfied,” “availability” and “reliability,” so the main information is generally understandable. There are also attempts to describe evaluation, such as “positive response” and “need improvement.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive: “population” is not the best term for a user category, and “Book available in Library” is an awkward way to describe book availability. Spelling errors such as “libraray,” “bacause” and “wifi” reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of chart-reporting phrases, and check spelling and natural combinations of words before finishing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response communicates the main figures using mostly simple sentence patterns, with occasional attempts to combine ideas using “but,” “while” and “because.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to follow. For example, “there are number of students in university where mostly are full time undergraduate student” has problems with articles, sentence structure and agreement. “Staff of library is very helpful because it show” also contains agreement and reference errors. Several statements lack a clear subject or complete structure, as in “journal availability show positive response.” Practise accurate comparative sentences and check articles, plural forms, subject–verb agreement and punctuation when linking figures.
