Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, while academic staff are the smallest group at 7%. You also report several satisfaction figures correctly, including 65% very satisfied with opening hours and 95% with staff helpfulness. This addresses both visuals and gives a relevant overall comparison. However, the overview is brief and the satisfaction summary is less fully developed: the final statement that three figures fluctuate between 33 and 50 does not clearly identify which categories or distinguish the satisfaction levels. It also overlooks useful contrasts, such as journals having the highest dissatisfaction at 20%, compared with none for opening hours and staff helpfulness. Select and explain these key comparisons more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories and a paragraph on satisfaction. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the two visuals. Some linking is effective, as in “To begin with” and “On the other hand,” but connections are occasionally mechanical or unclear. For example, “Moreover, The Distance learning of all courses rise but the Acedamic staff decline 1% from 8 to 7%” is difficult to follow because the comparison and the change over time are not clearly expressed; the chart shows proportions, not a trend. The final sentence also groups three categories without naming them. Use clearer topic sentences and refer directly to each category when comparing figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “Full-time undergraduate,” “satisfaction,” “availability,” and “reliability,” and you attempt comparison language such as “whereas” and “vis-à-vis.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to interpret. Phrases such as “the highest popular,” “layout of result,” and “the biggest satisfied” do not express the intended ideas clearly. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “Acedamic,” “houre,” and repeated forms of “satisfiel.” Aim for precise chart language and check spelling carefully; for example, describe a group as “the largest category” and a rating as “very satisfied.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “Whereas” and a sentence beginning “On account of.” Some relationships between ideas can be understood, but grammatical control is inconsistent. For instance, “The chart and table illustrates” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “the Full-time postgraduate which lower user” lacks a complete grammatical structure. In “the Distance learning of all courses rise,” the verb form does not agree with the subject, and the sentence about staff “decline 1% from 8 to 7%” is not framed clearly as a comparison of proportions. Practise complete clauses, agreement, articles and accurate verb forms, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
