Student answer (Band 5.5)

The chart and table illustrate the outcomes of a survey of the people who use library for their essential needs at a university.

Overall., the chart displays the categories of library users. While table presents the data regarding users' satisfaction levels. In addition, the major part of library is used by full-time undergraduates and the helpfulness of staff is liked by the majority.

On the one hand, the individuals who use library minimally are acadamic staff and distance learners that is 7% and 8% respectviely. There are sixteen percent part-time postgraduates who avails the advantage provided by library. Compared to full-time postgraduates, they utilize the library 44% which is more than 25% respectively.

On the other hand, there are countless citizens who give their feedback about library's satisfaction. For library opening hours 65% people are very satisfied, 0% are not satisfied. The feedback regarding availability of journals and library opening hours is same, 35% users are fairly satisfied. For helpfulness of staff, 95% users are very satisfied, while 5% aren't. Fourty five and fourty eight percents users are extremely satisfed with the availability of journals and reliability of Wi-Fi, respectively. There are only 10 percent users who aren't satisfied with the availability of books. Whereas for the reliability of books 33% are fairly satisfied.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both visuals and give a relevant overview: full-time undergraduates form the largest user group, while staff helpfulness receives the strongest satisfaction rating. Several figures are reported accurately, including the 7% and 8% user groups and the 95% very satisfied with staff. However, some comparisons are unclear or inaccurate. You say full-time postgraduates use the library at 44%, when 44% refers to full-time undergraduates and postgraduates account for 25%. You also describe the feedback for journals and opening hours as the same, although only their fairly satisfied figures match; their other ratings differ. The final reference to “reliability of books” appears to mean availability of books. Select the main contrasts more precisely and ensure each figure is attached to the correct category.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction and overview are followed by one paragraph on user categories and another on satisfaction. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the two visuals. However, some linking is mechanical or does not clarify the relationship between ideas. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” suggest a contrast that is not really being made, and “Compared to full-time postgraduates” introduces a comparison whose figures are then assigned unclearly. The satisfaction paragraph also moves between topics without a consistent order. Grouping the satisfaction results—for example, strongest ratings first, then areas with more dissatisfaction—and using clearer references would make progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of vocabulary for describing survey results, including “categories,” “satisfaction levels,” “feedback,” and “very satisfied.” However, several choices are imprecise or unnatural for an academic chart summary. “Countless citizens” exaggerates the information and is not supported by the table, while “use library for their essential needs” adds an unsupported purpose. Phrases such as “liked by the majority” are less precise than describing respondents as satisfied, and “avail the advantage” is an awkward collocation. Spelling errors such as “acadamic,” “respectviely,” “Fourty,” and “satisfed” also reduce accuracy. Prefer neutral, data-focused wording and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and more complex forms, including the contrast introduced by “While” and clauses beginning with “who.” Meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur. Articles and noun forms are missing or inconsistent in “use library” and “the major part of library,” and subject–verb agreement is faulty in “sixteen percent part-time postgraduates who avails.” The sentence beginning “Compared to full-time postgraduates” is also difficult to interpret because its comparison structure does not clearly connect the groups and figures. Punctuation needs attention in “Overall.,” and the opening “While table presents” is an incomplete dependent clause. Build accuracy by checking articles, agreement, and complete sentence boundaries.
