Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both visuals and report the figures accurately, including all five user groups and all five satisfaction categories. The overview identifies the largest and smallest user groups correctly, and it highlights staff helpfulness as the strongest satisfaction result and journals as the weakest overall. This gives the response a clear, relevant summary. To make the overview more analytical, compare satisfaction patterns rather than describing the lowest category only: for example, staff helpfulness and opening hours received no dissatisfaction, whereas journals and Wi-Fi had the highest dissatisfied shares. Some details are presented as a list without explaining the main contrasts, so the key features are not equally developed. The response already shows good coverage and accurate selection, but sharper synthesis would strengthen it further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the chart and table. This makes the information generally easy to locate, and the sequence of categories and satisfaction measures is logical. However, linking phrases are often mechanical or unsuitable, such as “First and foremost,” “As well as,” “At least but not last,” and “At the end.” Repeatedly beginning sentences with “the categories of library users” or “the library user satisfaction” also makes the progression feel list-like. Use simpler, more precise links and group related table results into meaningful comparisons—for instance, contrast the high ratings for staff and opening hours with the lower ratings for journals and Wi-Fi. Clearer referencing would also reduce repetition.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “categories,” “satisfaction,” and “reliability,” and the reader can understand the main information. However, the range is limited by repeated wording such as “categories of library users” and “library user satisfaction,” while several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural: “highest percentage of table,” “At least but not last,” and “Additionaly.” Spelling errors such as “availibility” also reduce precision. Aim for concise reporting language and accurate collocations, using terms such as “accounted for,” “rated,” and “dissatisfied” where appropriate. More varied but natural vocabulary would make the comparisons clearer without relying on awkward linking phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and most figures remain understandable. However, there are some recurring problems with sentence structure and agreement. For example, “the categories of library users in the pie chart is 7% academic staff” has a plural subject with a singular verb and an unclear structure; “full-time undergraduate categories … is 44%” has the same issue. Several sentences omit articles or use punctuation awkwardly, including the extra spaces before full stops and commas. Try framing each figure with a consistent grammatical pattern, such as “Academic staff accounted for 7% of users,” and use parallel structures when listing satisfaction levels. Greater control of these patterns would make the report more fluent and accurate.
