Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, followed by full-time postgraduates at 25%, and you note that opening hours and staff receive no dissatisfied ratings. You also select relevant satisfaction details, including the 90% combined satisfaction with books. However, some reporting is unclear or incomplete: “65 users” and “95 users” should be described as percentages, and the overview could capture the broader pattern across all five satisfaction categories. The claim that the other three user groups “combinely” make up 31% is correct, but could be supported with their individual figures. The response is 17 words below the required minimum, which limits the opportunity to develop comparisons and cover the data more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall shape: an introduction and overview are followed by user-category details and then satisfaction comparisons. This makes the main information easy to locate. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “while,” and “respectively” help connect ideas, and the comparisons between the largest user groups and satisfaction ratings are relevant. However, the final paragraph combines several different satisfaction findings without a clear progression, and “While” begins a fragment-like transition after a full stop. The overview also moves quickly from user proportions to satisfaction, leaving the relationship between the two charts somewhat abrupt. Grouping the satisfaction results into positive findings and areas with more dissatisfaction would make the progression more controlled.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “categories,” “satisfied,” “availability,” and “unsatisfied.” These terms allow you to describe both the user groups and the table, and the meaning is generally clear. There are some inaccurate or awkward choices, however: “library usage by students and staff” is less precise than describing the proportions of user categories, while “contributing” is not the most natural verb for a group’s share. “Combinely” is an incorrect form, and “realiability” is misspelled. Use standard chart language such as “accounted for,” “made up,” and “dissatisfied,” and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would also distinguish percentages from numbers of people.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “categories which use library most” and a contrast introduced with “while.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction reduce accuracy. For example, “full-time undergraduates use library” needs an article or possessive construction, and “The other three categories combinely contributes” has a subject–verb agreement problem. “While, availability…” is not correctly punctuated as a sentence transition, and “Availability of books have” should use a singular verb. To improve control, check whether each subject is singular or plural and make sure contrast clauses are attached to a complete sentence.
