Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Categories of library users
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The provided pie chart illustrates the types of library users at university found from a survey and the table presents the distribution of satisfaction regarding several facilities available in the library.
Overall, the university library is largely used by full-time undergraduates and users are most satisfied with the opening hours of the library and the helpfulness of staffs.
Among the users, majority (44%) are full-time undergraduates. Moreover, one out of four of the users are full-time postgraduates. Again, 16% of the users are Part-time postgraduates, whereas 8% users are distance learner and only 7% of the academic staff utilize the library.
Of all the facilities, users are mostly satisfied with the helpfulness behaviour of the staff (95%). Furthermore, half of the users are very satisfied with the opening hours of library and the availability of books. However, the satisfaction regarding wifi reliability and the availability of journals are significantly lower (48% and 45%) compared to other services.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You cover both visuals and provide a clear overview: undergraduates form the largest user group, while staff helpfulness and opening hours receive strong satisfaction. The user-category figures are accurately reported, and you identify the leading satisfaction result at 95%. However, the overview could capture the full pattern more precisely: opening hours have 65% very satisfied, not about half, and the table also shows 0% not satisfied for both opening hours and staff helpfulness. Your comparison of wi-fi and journals as “significantly lower” is somewhat broad, since books have a similar very-satisfied figure of 50%. Reporting the distinction between very and fairly satisfied more consistently would make the key comparisons better supported and less generalised.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response is organised into a clear introduction, overview, user-category paragraph and satisfaction paragraph, so the reader can follow the two visuals without difficulty. Information progresses logically from the largest user groups to satisfaction results, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “whereas” and “Furthermore” help connect details. The organisation is effective, though some transitions are a little mechanical, and “Again” does not clearly signal the relationship between the figures that follow. The final paragraph also groups wi-fi and journals as lower-rated services without explaining the comparison with books. Use more precise links to show whether you are adding a detail, contrasting results or identifying a ranking, and keep each comparison explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “distribution of satisfaction,” “availability,” “reliability” and “utilize,” and the meaning remains clear. There are, however, some imprecise or unnatural choices that limit flexibility and precision. “Helpfulness behaviour of the staff” is an awkward rendering of the table category, while “distance learner” does not match the category label as naturally as “distance-learning users.” “Facilities” is also a broad label for items that include services and resources. In addition, “significantly lower” overstates the contrast when the figures are relatively close. Prefer concise, accurate chart language and vary expressions for proportions and satisfaction levels.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a clear contrast in “16% … whereas 8% …,” and most sentences communicate the intended information. Some grammatical errors remain. In “Among the users, majority,” the singular count noun needs a determiner (“the majority”); “8% users” similarly needs “of the users.” The phrase “one out of four of the users are” has an awkward number construction, and “staffs” is not the appropriate plural form in this context. There are also minor punctuation and spacing slips, such as the extra spaces before “are” and “opening hours.” These issues rarely obstruct meaning, but checking articles, agreement and noun forms would improve accuracy while retaining your sentence variety.
