Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main user groups and several satisfaction results, and your overview correctly notes that undergraduates are the largest group and academic staff the smallest. You also select useful contrasts, including the high satisfaction with staff helpfulness and the dissatisfaction with journals and wi-fi. However, some key information is incomplete or inaccurate: 95% applies to staff helpfulness, not opening hours, where 65% were very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied. The user-group paragraph omits the 16% part-time postgraduate figure, and the book-satisfaction statement is unclear and does not report the 50% very satisfied or 10% not satisfied. Covering these features accurately and more fully would strengthen the summary.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear four-part structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the two visuals. This gives the reader a logical route through the information, and phrases such as “Regarding the categories” and “In terms of satisfaction level” help signal topic changes. The overview also provides a useful organising summary before the details. Some links between figures and claims are less clear, however; for example, “95% users were satisfied by the staff helpfulness and opening hours” combines two categories with different results. The final sentence about books is also difficult to follow. Make each comparison explicit and use references that clearly identify the service being discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “categories,” “satisfaction,” “dissatisfaction,” and “reliability,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. However, several word-choice and collocation problems reduce precision: “accounted by far the largest user group,” “satisfied by,” and “comparsing just 40%” are not natural expressions in this context. Spelling errors such as “avalibility,” “avaliability,” and “comparitively” are noticeable, and “satisfied” is repeated where more precise descriptions of satisfaction levels would help. Aim for accurate phrases such as “made up the largest group,” “were satisfied with,” and “the proportion who were fairly satisfied.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including a complex opening with “while” and an overview beginning “Overall,” so the response is not limited to simple statements. Some grammatical errors remain, though, and they affect clarity. Examples include the duplicated article in “the the proportion,” “the full-time undergraduate students are accounted,” and “highest proportion was constitute.” There are also problems with articles and agreement in “majority is very satisfied” and “Academic staff and distance learning was.” The sentence about books, “users are fairly satisfied comparsing just 40%,” has an unclear grammatical relationship between the users and the figure. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and complete, well-formed comparisons.
