Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both visuals and identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, while academic staff are among the smallest groups. You also note that satisfaction with opening hours is generally positive and that staff receive especially strong ratings. However, some figures and comparisons are inaccurate: distance learners are 8% and academic staff 7%, so they are not both 8%; journal dissatisfaction is 20%, not 30%; and 45% are very satisfied with journals, rather than simply “satisfied.” The overview is relevant but narrow, focusing mainly on user categories and opening hours. Include the strongest contrast in the table—95% very satisfied with staff versus lower ratings for journals and Wi-Fi—and report the satisfaction categories precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories, and one on satisfaction. This makes the two visuals easy to distinguish, and phrases such as “Overall” and “Meanwhile” help signal movement between points. However, progression within the final paragraph is less controlled: several facilities and figures are listed in quick succession, and the comparison between them is not always explicit. Some linking words, including “Meanwhile” and “on the other hand,” feel mechanical or do not mark a clear contrast. Improve cohesion by grouping the satisfaction results—for example, staff and opening hours as highly rated, then books, journals, and Wi-Fi—and use clear references to the relevant rating categories.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing charts, including “survey findings,” “categories,” “satisfaction level,” and “availability.” There are also attempts at more descriptive wording, such as “highest user” and “modest users.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, including “satisfied from,” “disapoint from network issues,” and “the lowest users,” which make parts of the report less precise. Spelling errors such as “stufents,” “whoch,” and “leople” also reduce control. Aim for standard chart-report collocations and accurate forms, such as “satisfied with,” “accounted for,” and “dissatisfied with the Wi-Fi reliability.” This would make your descriptions clearer and more appropriately formal.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including “According to the chart…” and “Almost everyone were satisfied…”. However, errors in agreement, articles, sentence boundaries, and punctuation are evident in several places. For example, “the pie chart and table demonstrates” needs a plural verb, while “the undergraduate students was” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “According to the chart” also runs into the next point without reliable punctuation, and several sentences omit spaces after full stops. These issues sometimes make the relationships between figures harder to follow. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, and use full stops to separate distinct comparisons.
