Student answer (Band 6.0)
The pie chart illustrates a data of types of library customers at a college, while the table compares a satisfaction of users.
Overall, we can clearly see from pie chart that most of the people are mainly full time undergraduates. Majority of the indivuduals in the library are extremely delighted with the service of staff.
In the pie chart where users read, full time undergraduates makes up almost half of the customers, while full time and part time graduates have 25%, 16% respectively. Academic staff and distance learning are relatively small but it makes up the 7%, 8%.
In the table, most of the customers were very satisfied with helfulness of staff (95%) and opening hours(65%). In contrast fairly satisfied ones were availability of books and journals (40%, 35%) and reliability of wifi (33%). Eventually those who were dissatisfied were availability of journals and reliability of journals were 20%, 19% respectively .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both visuals and provide a relevant overview: full-time undergraduates are the largest user group, and satisfaction with staff and opening hours is high. Most figures are reported accurately, including the user-group proportions and the satisfaction results for staff, hours, books and journals. However, the overview is quite general and does not identify the lower satisfaction for journals and Wi-Fi as a notable contrast. The final sentence also mislabels the 19% figure: it refers to dissatisfaction with Wi-Fi, not journals. Some details are therefore less fully or clearly reported than others. To strengthen the response, select the main contrasts in the overview and check that each table figure is attached to the correct category.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by one paragraph on the pie chart and one on the table. This makes the two visuals easy to distinguish, and linking phrases such as “Overall” and “In contrast” help signal the direction of the discussion. The progression is generally logical, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Eventually” does not naturally introduce the final satisfaction figures, and “those who were dissatisfied” is followed by a repeated, confusing reference to journals. The overview also repeats the idea of the largest user group without previewing the main contrast in satisfaction. Use more precise referencing and transitions to make the relationships between categories and figures smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “full-time undergraduates,” “satisfaction,” “availability,” and “reliability,” so the main information is usually understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “a data,” “library customers,” “where users read,” and “extremely delighted with the service of staff” do not fit this chart-and-table summary well. There are also spelling errors in “indivuduals” and “helfulness,” and “graduates” is less precise than “postgraduates” for the categories shown. Aim for concise, neutral reporting language and check spelling and collocation. More accurate phrasing would improve precision without requiring unusually advanced vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “while” and a sentence beginning “In contrast,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. Some grammatical errors remain, however. The opening has article and noun-form problems in “illustrates a data” and “compares a satisfaction”; “full time undergraduates makes up” has an agreement error; and “Academic staff and distance learning … it makes up” has unclear agreement and reference. The sentence about dissatisfied users also has a faulty repeated structure. These errors do not usually prevent understanding, but they limit accuracy. Practise plural agreement and article use, and build shorter, controlled sentences when reporting several figures.
