Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify two relevant features: full-time undergraduates are the largest user group, and academic staff are the smallest. You also note the high satisfaction with staff helpfulness. However, the response covers only a small part of the visual data: it omits most user-group figures and gives almost no comparison across the five services. The claim that books have the lowest proportion of dissatisfied users is inaccurate; opening hours and staff helpfulness both have 0% not satisfied, compared with 10% for books. The response is 85 words, below the required 150, which leaves the summary substantially incomplete. Include a clear overview and select key figures to compare both the user categories and satisfaction results.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic, sensible structure: an introductory sentence is followed by an overview beginning with “Overall,” and the two visuals are addressed in turn. This gives the reader a general sense of the organisation. However, the second paragraph combines several observations without developing them, and the contrast marker “In contrast” does not clearly express the relationship between the chart and table. The phrase “shown in pie chart presented as” also makes the connection between ideas difficult to follow. To improve progression, use separate, focused paragraphs for the user categories and satisfaction results, and connect comparisons explicitly—for example, contrast the highest satisfaction ratings with the areas receiving more negative responses.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary such as “percentage,” “proportion,” “largest group,” and “satisfied,” so the main topic is generally clear. There is also some attempt to vary wording, as in “least percentage” and “second highest proportion.” However, several choices are inaccurate or awkward, including “the service of helpfulness of staff” and “the lowest percentage of not satisfied users are with the service of availability of books.” Spelling errors such as “undergreduate” and “availibility” also reduce accuracy. Aim for concise, natural collocations and use the table’s category labels precisely, such as “very satisfied with staff helpfulness” and “dissatisfied with the availability of books.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response uses a few sentence forms, including a compound introduction and an overview with a contrast clause, and the main message remains understandable. However, subject–verb agreement is inconsistent: “The pie chart illustrate” and “the table below show” should use “illustrates” and “shows.” The sentence beginning “In contrast, in the table” is also structurally incomplete or awkward, because “with the service of helpfulness of staff was very satisfied” lacks a clear subject and grammatical connection. The final sentence has a mismatch between “percentage” and “are.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and clause structure before adding comparisons.
