Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify both visuals and report several accurate key figures, including the 44% share of full-time undergraduates, the 7% share of academic staff, and the 95% very-satisfied rating for staff helpfulness. You also note that journal availability attracts the highest dissatisfaction, at 20%. However, the overview is broad rather than a clear summary of the main patterns: it would help to state that undergraduates form the largest user group and that satisfaction is generally high, especially for staff helpfulness and opening hours. Some details are underdeveloped or unclear, such as the claim that postgraduates use the library in a “moderate ratio.” The comment about “poor wi-fi connection” is not directly supported by the table, which reports satisfaction ratings rather than causes. Covering the main comparisons more precisely would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable progression: an introduction, a paragraph about user categories, and a final paragraph about satisfaction. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly” and “Moving forward” help signal the shift between the visuals, and the information is generally easy to follow. To make the organisation more effective, provide a distinct overview before the detailed comparisons, then group related satisfaction results rather than listing only selected extremes. Some linking is mechanical, and the long opening sentence combines the chart description, user groups, and services in a way that is difficult to process. Punctuation also runs sentences together, particularly around “library. The” and “20%.Most.” Clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing would make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “categories,” “percentage ratio,” “satisfaction levels,” and “reliability,” and the reader can understand the main comparisons. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “research survey,” “visits the library most,” “moderate ratio,” and “unsatisfied by unavailability.” Repetition of “library” and “services” also limits flexibility. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “undergradutes,” “disscussing,” “wether,” and “sevices,” which reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Aim for standard chart-reporting expressions such as “accounted for,” “the largest proportion,” and “were dissatisfied with,” and check spelling carefully. This would make your vocabulary more precise and appropriate to an academic summary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of sentence forms, including a relative clause in “services that are discussed” and a comparison using “while.” The main information is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “the full-time graduates visits” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “the percentage ratio … is 44% while academic staff comprise” needs clearer sentence punctuation and article use. The opening also contains a sentence fragment after the colon, followed by a list that does not form a complete sentence. Several sentences are joined without a space or suitable punctuation, as in “library. The” and “20%.Most.” Work on agreement, complete sentence structure, and punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex sentences; these changes would improve accuracy and readability.
