Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main user-group pattern accurately: full-time undergraduates are the largest group at 44%, and academic staff are the smallest at 7%. You also select relevant satisfaction results, including the 95% very-satisfied rating for staff helpfulness and the 20% dissatisfied with journal availability. This gives the response a clear overview and covers both visuals. However, some comparisons are incomplete: you do not report the satisfaction figures for books, and you describe Wi-Fi as having the lowest satisfaction without clarifying that journals have the lowest very-satisfied share (45%) and the highest dissatisfied share (20%). The overview is therefore useful but not fully precise, and some selected features are less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by a paragraph on user categories and one on satisfaction. This makes the information easy to locate, and phrases such as “According to the pie chart” and “If we look up at table” signal the shift between visuals. The overview also helps establish the main comparisons before the details. To make the progression more controlled, group the satisfaction figures consistently by rating or by service, and use linking expressions more accurately. For example, “whereas” in the journals sentence does not clearly connect the two ratings, and the final paragraph moves between opening hours, journals and Wi-Fi without covering books. More precise referencing and cleaner punctuation around transitions would strengthen cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “largest portion,” “smallest share,” “highly rated” and “fairly satisfied,” so the main information is generally understandable. There are also attempts to vary expression, such as “held 16%” and “made up.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing data: “accounted for” is used in the awkward phrase “were accounted for,” “weightage” is not suitable here, and “very satisfies users” is an incorrect form. Spelling errors such as “recieved,” “wieghtage,” “distant,” “vailability” and “reilability” also reduce precision. Prefer standard chart language such as “accounted for 16%” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons with “whereas” and clauses introduced by “while” and “however.” Most of the data remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. In the opening, “chart and table illustrates” has a subject–verb agreement error; it should be “illustrate.” The phrase “full-time undergraduate represented 44%” needs a plural or a more suitable noun phrase, and “library users were highly satisfied by the helpfulness” uses an awkward passive construction. There are also punctuation and spacing problems, such as “share.Regarding” and missing spaces after full stops. Review agreement, sentence boundaries and the grammatical patterns used to compare percentages.
