Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both visuals and give a relevant overview: undergraduates form the largest user group, while academic staff are the smallest, and satisfaction is strongest for staff helpfulness and opening hours. Most figures are reported accurately, including the 44%, 25%, 16%, 8% and 7% user shares. However, some comparisons are unclear or imprecise. The table gives percentages, not numbers of users, so “95” and “65 users” should be expressed as 95% and 65%. Also, the claim that most users are dissatisfied with journals is inaccurate: 20% are not satisfied, while 45% are very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied. The overview identifies key features, but a more balanced account of satisfaction would make it more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs describing the chart and table. This makes the two sources easy to distinguish, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “However,” and “Moreover” help signal relationships. The progression is generally logical, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “followed by the second highest which is 25% respectively” does not clearly identify the category, and “availability of library” is an imprecise reference to the table’s book and journal categories. The table paragraph also moves between staff, opening hours, journals and books without consistently comparing satisfaction levels. Use clearer references and group related results to make the progression more controlled.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing charts, including “highest,” “least,” “fraction,” “satisfied” and “dissatisfied,” so the main information is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are unnatural, such as “categories users of library,” “full time post undergraduate,” “satisfied with staff helpful nature” and “plus point.” Some expressions are also imprecise: “ratio” and “fraction” are less suitable than “proportion” or “share” for these percentages. Spelling errors such as “Hoewever” and “their” for “there” further reduce accuracy. Aim for precise chart vocabulary and natural collocations, and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including contrast with “However” and clauses beginning “as” and “while.” The meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms occur across the response. Examples include “the full time post undergraduate having the second highest fraction,” which lacks a finite verb, and “From table it can seen,” which is missing grammatical elements. There are also problems with articles and agreement in “the opening hours of library is,” and punctuation is inconsistent, particularly around commas and sentence boundaries. Build more reliable sentence patterns first, such as “Full-time postgraduates account for 25%,” then add complex clauses while checking verb forms, articles and agreement.
