Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You report the main figures for both visuals, including the largest user group (full-time undergraduates, 44%) and the satisfaction percentages for each service. However, the response does not provide a clear overview of the most important patterns, which is central to summarising the data. For example, it does not highlight that staff helpfulness received the strongest satisfaction rating, while journals attracted the highest dissatisfaction. The final two satisfaction statements also omit the service labels, so readers cannot tell which figures refer to journals and which to Wi-Fi. The opening sentence misidentifies the subject as user “satisfaction” rather than categories of users. Add a concise overview and make the comparisons and labels explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response follows a generally understandable order: it first describes the pie chart and then moves to the satisfaction table. This gives the reader a basic structure, and the figures are mostly presented in a sequence that can be followed. However, there is no separate overview, and the table section reads as a repetitive list of nearly identical sentences beginning “Library users was.” The final two sets of percentages are not linked clearly to their categories, weakening progression and reference. Use a short overview after the introduction, group related findings, and vary the linking language—for example, contrast the high ratings for staff and opening hours with the lower ratings for journals and Wi-Fi.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary such as “categories,” “Very satisfied,” “availability,” and “reliability,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or awkward, including “library users satisfaction,” “as followings,” and “Library users was the most 95%.” The spelling error “satistaction” and the informal “non of them” also reduce precision. Repeated use of “Library users” makes the table description sound mechanical. Aim for accurate collocations and concise reporting language, such as “the proportion of users,” “the highest satisfaction rating,” and “no respondents were dissatisfied.” Check spelling and use the exact service labels consistently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response communicates many figures through simple sentence patterns, but grammatical control is uneven. Subject–verb agreement errors recur, as in “The pie chart show” and “Library users was,” and the opening sentence uses “illustrates” with the compound subject “chart and table.” There are also problems with sentence construction and punctuation: the list of user categories is run together without clear punctuation, while “Library users was 45% Very satisfied…” lacks the service category needed to complete the sentence clearly. Most sentences rely on the same basic structure, with little evidence of controlled complex forms. Practise accurate agreement and build varied comparisons, for example, “While 95% were very satisfied with staff helpfulness, only 45% gave this rating to journal availability.”
