Student answer (Band 6.5)

The pie chart illustrates what kind of people often use library at a university. The table shows that how much these users are satified with different aspects of library.

Overall, the maximum number of students that used library are full-time undergraduates while the academic staff using library have a least percentage. Similarly, table shows that most of the library users are satified with its workflow and some are fairly satisfies while very few are not satisfied especially to journals and books' availability and wi-fi reliability.

The pie chart demonstrates that full-time undergraduate students about 44% are library users, followed by full-time postgraduate students 25%, part-time postgraduate 16%, and distant learners 8%. In addition, the academic staff hold the least value of 7% among the other library users.

The tables shows that most people about 65% and 95% are very satisfied with library opening hours and nature of staff there respectively. However, relatively less people about 45%, 50% and 48% very satisfied when its comes to the availability of journal and books and reliability of wi-fi respectively.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both visuals and identify the main user group and the smallest group accurately: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, while academic staff make up 7%. You also report the other user shares and highlight the strong satisfaction with staff helpfulness and opening hours. This gives the response a clear overview and relevant comparisons. However, the overview that users are satisfied with the library “workflow” is vague, and the claim that dissatisfaction is especially associated with books and Wi-Fi overlooks journals, which have the highest dissatisfaction at 20%. The table discussion also omits the fairly satisfied and not satisfied figures. More precise synthesis of these contrasts, particularly the variation across all five services, would make the coverage more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response is organised in a clear sequence: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph describing user categories, and a final paragraph on satisfaction. This progression makes the two visuals easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Similarly,” “In addition,” and “However” help signal relationships between points. The organisation is effective, though some connections are broad rather than precise: “Similarly” does not clearly explain how the satisfaction overview parallels the user-category finding. The final paragraph also groups several figures into one long comparison without reporting the remaining satisfaction levels. Use more exact transitions and organise the table details into meaningful contrasts, such as the two strongest results versus the three areas with lower satisfaction.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “full-time undergraduate,” “part-time postgraduate,” “availability,” and “reliability,” so the reader can understand the main categories and measures. There is some useful variation in describing proportions, such as “percentage” and “value.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or imprecise: “workflow” does not describe library services, “nature of staff” is not a natural way to refer to staff helpfulness, and “distant learners” is less accurate than the chart’s “distance learning” category. Spelling errors such as “satified” and “satisfies” also reduce control. Aim for precise chart language and check spelling and word forms, especially when repeating key terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple statements and more developed structures, including the contrast introduced by “while” and the clause beginning “when it comes to.” The main information remains understandable, and several sentences communicate the figures clearly. Some grammatical errors persist, however. For example, “The table shows that how much” has an unnecessary “that,” while “The tables shows” has subject–verb disagreement. In “full-time undergraduate students about 44% are library users,” the sentence structure is incomplete, and “when its comes” contains an incorrect form. Articles and plural forms also need attention in phrases such as “use library” and “the availability of journal.” Review sentence construction and agreement, then proofread for small grammatical slips.
