Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both visuals and report the main user groups and satisfaction results, with figures that are generally accurate: undergraduates are the largest group at about 45%, while academic staff account for 7%, and staff helpfulness has the highest very-satisfied result at 95%. You also identify the contrast between the two satisfaction categories and the lower results for journals and Wi-Fi. This meets the task well, with some features more fully reported than others. However, there is no clear overview of the most important patterns across both visuals; “Overall” introduces one satisfaction detail rather than summarising the main picture. A concise overview noting the dominance of undergraduates and generally positive satisfaction, especially with staff, would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable sequence: it first describes the user categories and then moves to satisfaction, using separate paragraphs and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover.” This gives the reader an overall route through the information. However, progression within the satisfaction paragraph is less controlled: several rows are joined into one long sentence, making the comparisons harder to follow. The opening also repeats “library users” and does not clearly introduce the two visuals. Use one paragraph for the pie-chart data and another for the table, with a brief overview before the details. Grouping the satisfaction results by pattern—for example, the strongest ratings versus the weaker journal and Wi-Fi results—would make the cohesion less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportional composition,” “categories,” “availability,” and “very satisfied,” so the reader can understand the subject and most comparisons. However, the range is limited and some phrases are inaccurate or repetitive. “Largest amount of library users” is an awkward collocation; “largest proportion of users” is more precise. “Were live nearly around” is unclear, and repeated use of “library users” makes the description less fluent. There are also spelling and form issues, such as “thats shiw” and “post graduate.” Aim for accurate, concise chart language and vary expressions with terms such as “accounted for,” “represented,” and “the highest proportion.” These improvements would make the vocabulary more precise and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer comparisons, and the main figures are usually understandable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. For example, “There are five categories … thats shiw the result” has faulty clause construction, while “full time undergraduate was the largest amount” uses an unclear grammatical pattern. The final sentence strings several comparisons together without clear sentence boundaries, and “and and” shows a punctuation/editing lapse. There are also issues with articles, plural forms, and sentence openings, as in “in addition” after a full stop. Use shorter, complete sentences for each comparison, check subject–verb agreement and articles, and punctuate the table description carefully. More reliable control of these structures would improve clarity.
