Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both the user categories and satisfaction results, and identify important features such as undergraduates being the largest group (44%) and staff helpfulness receiving the strongest rating (95% very satisfied). However, some figures are misreported: book availability has 50% very satisfied, not 55%, and opening hours have 65% very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied, rather than simply “most” and “few.” The claim that part-time postgraduate use reflects “the lack of time” is not supported by the chart. Some comparisons are also unclear, particularly the statement about journal satisfaction. A more precise overview of the highest and lowest satisfaction results, followed by accurate comparisons, would make the response more complete and better developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response moves from user categories to satisfaction, so the reader can broadly follow its coverage, and transitions such as “Furthermore” and “At last” signal movement between points. However, the information is presented as one continuous paragraph, with no clear separation between the two visual elements. Several comparisons are crowded together, especially the discussion of books and journals, making the progression difficult to follow. Linking phrases such as “on the contrary” do not express the relationship accurately, and repeated use of “as” creates awkward connections. Organise the response into an introduction, an overview, and separate detail paragraphs, and use simpler, more precise links between comparisons.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of vocabulary, including “reliability,” “availability,” “appreciated,” and “composed,” and the main topic is generally understandable. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing survey data: “cover the most usage,” “a little interest,” “acceptance,” and “agree to come extent” do not clearly express proportions or satisfaction. There are also spelling and word-form errors, including “postgradute,” “Futhermore,” “Distant,” and “undergradaute.” Prefer standard chart language such as “account for,” “the largest proportion,” and “were very satisfied.” More accurate collocations and careful proofreading would improve precision and fluency.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including clauses beginning with “while” and “however,” but control is uneven. The opening has a subject–verb agreement error: “The pie chart and table illustrates” should be “illustrate.” Other examples include “full time undergraduates cover the most usage,” where the sentence structure does not clearly express the comparison, and “the part-time postgraduate ratio is lower than the full-time but it has a portion of 16%,” which needs clearer clause structure and punctuation. Some sentences also omit articles or use awkward grammatical patterns, as in “availability of books in library.” Use shorter, complete sentences for each comparison, check agreement and articles, and punctuate clauses carefully.
