Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, while academic staff are the smallest group at 7%. You also give an overview of satisfaction, noting the strong result for staff helpfulness and the weaker result for journals. However, the satisfaction summary is incomplete and sometimes imprecise. For example, you say journal availability caused dissatisfaction but do not report that 20% were not satisfied, the highest figure for this response across the categories. You also omit the wi-fi results and do not clearly compare the satisfaction levels for books and journals. Include the key figures and make the overview more precise to cover the data more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for user categories and satisfaction. This makes the information easy to follow, and phrases such as “Looking at the graph more closely” and “Regarding user satisfaction” signal the shift in focus. The progression is generally logical, though some links between details are awkward or repetitive, and the satisfaction paragraph moves between staff, books, opening hours and journals without a fully consistent comparison. The reference “the satisfaction is much higher” is also unclear about which category it refers to. Grouping the satisfaction figures by strongest and weakest results, and using clearer comparisons, would make the cohesion more flexible and precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for describing charts, including “accounted for,” “percentage,” “satisfaction” and “dissatisfied,” so the topic is generally clear. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “library attendents,” “contributed time to the highest ratio,” “satisfied from the cooperation,” and “Not satisfaction among users is cause by less availability.” Spelling errors such as “jounals,” “mebers” and “failry” also reduce accuracy. Aim for standard chart language and check spelling carefully; for example, say that undergraduates “made up the largest proportion” and that users were “satisfied with staff helpfulness.” This would make your vocabulary more precise and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including the overview sentence beginning “while” and the comparison between academic staff and distance learners. Meaning is usually recoverable, but some errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction remain. Examples include “full-time undergraduate are,” “none of member was dissatisfied,” and “Library opening hours was also leads.” The final sentence, “Not satisfaction among users is cause by less availability of journals,” is particularly difficult to interpret because its grammatical structure is incomplete. Review subject–verb agreement and use consistent past or present forms when reporting the survey. More accurate control of these patterns would strengthen the range you already attempt.
