Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both visuals and identify the main user group and the strongest satisfaction result. The figures for user categories are reported accurately, and you compare several satisfaction ratings, including staff helpfulness (95% very satisfied) and opening hours (65%). This gives the response a clear overview and relevant supporting detail. However, the overview that readers were satisfied with “all library facilities” is too broad: satisfaction varies, and journals have the highest dissatisfaction at 20%, followed by wi-fi at 19%. The table’s “not satisfied” figures are omitted, so the comparison is not fully developed. To strengthen the response, highlight this contrast in the overview and include the key dissatisfaction figures rather than focusing mainly on positive ratings.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories, and a paragraph on satisfaction. The progression from the pie chart to the table is easy to follow, and linking phrases such as “Overall,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” help signal the stages of the summary. Some connections are less effective, however. “On the other hand” suggests a contrast that is not clearly established, and the final sentence strings together several figures without a clear hierarchy. The satisfaction paragraph would be easier to follow if grouped by the strongest positive results and the weaker areas, with a separate comparison of dissatisfaction. More precise referencing and punctuation between figures would also make the flow smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “satisfied,” “availability,” and “reliability,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, the range and control are limited by repeated or inaccurate expressions such as “library users,” “readers,” and “satisfied,” as well as awkward collocations like “highest usage of library was done by” and “the percentage of books availability had 40% users.” Several spelling errors—“libarary,” “statisfication,” “helpfullness,” and “subsequantly”—also reduce accuracy. Aim for concise, conventional chart language, such as “accounted for,” “the proportion of users,” and “were fairly satisfied.” Check spelling and use the correct noun forms, especially when describing satisfaction categories and user groups.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including a comparison with “compared to” and a clause beginning “which was 25%.” The main information remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “full-time undergraduated” and “full-time postgraduated readers” use incorrect forms, while “the least users of library” has an unclear noun phrase and missing article. The long final sentence also joins several comparisons without clear sentence boundaries, and “this was 65% for opening hours” has an unclear reference. Use accurate plural noun phrases such as “full-time undergraduates,” and divide the table details into shorter, parallel sentences. More consistent control of articles, word forms, and punctuation would improve clarity.
