Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, while academic staff are the smallest group at 7%. You also give an overview of satisfaction, but the claim that journals received the least satisfaction is not fully supported: wi-fi has a lower very-satisfied figure (48% versus 45% for journals, though journals have the highest dissatisfied share). More importantly, the response stops after introducing opening-hours satisfaction and does not report the remaining table results, including staff helpfulness, books, journals, or wi-fi. The answer is also 28 words below the required minimum. This leaves the task only partially addressed; include a complete summary of the table’s main contrasts and support the overview with accurate comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph describing user categories. This gives the information some organisation, and the comparisons between undergraduate and postgraduate users are easy to follow. However, the progression is incomplete because the final paragraph begins discussing satisfaction but ends abruptly at “with,” leaving the table section unfinished. As a result, the two visual elements are not both developed in a coherent sequence. Some linking is also awkward, as in “whereas” followed by “A few people,” and “comparing to others” does not clearly express the comparison. Complete the final paragraph and use clear transitions to move from user proportions to satisfaction findings.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “proportions,” “dominate,” “satisfied,” and “availability,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. There is some variety in how you describe the figures, rather than relying only on “users.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise: “proportions of feedback of this service,” “use library most,” and “opening hours timing.” “A few people” is also too informal and does not accurately describe percentages in an academic report. Aim for standard chart language and precise terms for groups and satisfaction levels. More accurate phrasing would make the response sound more controlled and help distinguish user numbers from survey ratings.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of sentence forms, including a comparison with “whereas” and a longer overview sentence joining two findings. Most of the intended meaning remains understandable. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns are noticeable. For example, “use library most” is missing an article, and “the least percentage of library users is allocated for academic staff people” has an awkward passive construction and unclear agreement of meaning. The final sentence is incomplete, ending with “with,” which prevents the idea from being expressed as a complete sentence. There is also a missing article in “use library services.” Check articles and sentence completion, and make sure each comparison has a clear grammatical structure.
