Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates account for the largest share (44%), while academic staff are the smallest (7%). You also report several satisfaction figures accurately, including staff helpfulness (95% very satisfied) and opening hours (65%). However, the response does not provide a clear overview of the most important patterns across both visuals, and the table summary is incomplete: journals and wi-fi are not reported, and the response ends mid-sentence. Some comparisons are repeated rather than developed. To strengthen the report, summarise the key contrasts—for example, staff helpfulness receives the strongest satisfaction, while journals have the highest dissatisfaction—and cover the main features of both visuals in a complete, factual account.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response moves from an introduction to the user categories and then to satisfaction, with paragraph breaks separating these sections. Basic sequencing words such as “Secondly,” “Then,” and “while” help show relationships. However, progression is not consistently clear. The user-category paragraph repeats that academic staff are the smallest group, and phrases such as “the second designation” and “the third place” make the sequence harder to follow. The table paragraph lists figures in a long chain and stops abruptly after “journals al,” leaving the final information unconnected. Use a concise overview, group related comparisons, and make each paragraph complete; this would reduce repetition and make the relationships between figures easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some task-relevant vocabulary, including “library users,” “satisfaction rate,” “fairly satisfied,” and “availability of books.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to interpret: “catagorical representaion,” “second desgination,” and “the library opening hours statisfied the 65 percent users” are examples. Spelling errors such as “librry,” “perccentage,” and “availablity” are also frequent and distract from the data. Aim for precise reporting language and check spelling carefully. For example, describe a group as “accounted for” a percentage and say users were “very satisfied with” a service.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to combine information using clauses and linking words, as in “while there is no user who are not satisfied at this stage.” However, sentence structures are limited, and attempts at longer sentences often contain errors that make the relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “the full postgradute student got the second desgination” and “the helpfulness of staff satisfied the users most,” where the sentence patterns do not express the intended comparisons accurately. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, such as “the 5 percent are failry satisfied.” Use shorter, controlled sentences to report each comparison, then practise accurate complex forms with “whereas” or “while.” Check subject–verb agreement and punctuation when editing.
