Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You cover both the user categories and satisfaction results, and your overview identifies two important contrasts: undergraduates form the largest group, while staff receive the strongest satisfaction rating and journals are less positively rated. Most figures are accurate, including the user shares and the 65%/35% split for opening hours. The main weakness is an over-generalisation in “half users were satisfied with availability of books while half were not very satisfied”: 50% were very satisfied, 40% fairly satisfied, and only 10% not satisfied. Similarly, the overview could distinguish the lower journal ratings from wi-fi, whose satisfaction is 48%. More precise reporting of the satisfaction categories would make the key comparisons better supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall shape: an introduction and overview are followed by one paragraph on user categories and another on satisfaction. This makes the two sets of information easy to locate, and linking expressions such as “Overall” and “Furthermore” help signal progression. However, some connections are mechanical or imprecise. “Subsequently” does not show a meaningful sequence between user groups, and “in the same manner” suggests the journal and wi-fi results are alike without explaining the comparison. The satisfaction paragraph also moves through several categories without a consistent pattern. Grouping the strongest results first, then comparing the lower ratings, and using clearer references to the table categories would make the progression more controlled.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “full-time undergraduate,” “part-time postgraduate,” “availability,” and “reliability,” so the reader can identify the categories being described. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general words such as “users,” “satisfied,” and “library,” as well as inaccurate or unnatural choices: “higly active users,” “visit very less,” and “staff behaviour is very kind.” These phrases do not precisely describe the data, which reports satisfaction with helpfulness rather than staff behaviour. Spelling errors such as “Furthemore,” “varouis,” and “satified” are also noticeable. Aim for accurate collocations and use more precise terms for proportions and satisfaction levels.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt some complex structures, including “while” comparisons and the clause beginning “because 95% users were satisfied,” but control is uneven and many sentences contain grammatical errors. For example, “illustrates that how frequently the library is use” has an incorrect clause pattern and verb form; “the minor users … were include” has faulty agreement and verb construction; and “45%, in the same manner…” creates a sentence boundary problem. Articles and prepositions are also often missing, as in “in university” and “95% users.” These errors sometimes make the relationships between ideas less clear. Practise accurate simple sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses while checking verb forms, articles, and punctuation.
