Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main user groups and correctly report the largest share as full-time undergraduates (44%), followed by full-time postgraduates (25%). You also include several satisfaction figures, such as 65% for opening hours and 95% for staff helpfulness. However, the overview is unclear and does not summarise the strongest overall pattern in the satisfaction data: staff helpfulness receives the highest satisfaction, while books, journals and wi-fi attract more mixed responses. Some details are difficult to interpret, particularly “middle range is 35 to 5,” and the claim that journals and wi-fi are “almost same in every level” overlooks their differences, especially in dissatisfaction. A clearer overview and more precise comparisons would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph about user categories and a final paragraph about satisfaction. This gives the reader some sense of how the information is divided. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several figures and ideas are crowded together. For example, the sentence beginning “Most of the enough users distance learning” combines distance learners, academic staff and postgraduate users without clear relationships. Linking phrases such as “Additionally” and “On the other hand” are used, but the latter does not express a clear contrast between the information that follows. Use one paragraph for each chart, group related figures, and make comparisons explicit to improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to describing charts, including “proportion,” “percentage,” “satisfaction level” and “availability.” However, the range is limited and many word choices or collocations make the meaning hard to understand. Phrases such as “the proportion of presents the check of a seeing” and “most of the enough users” do not communicate the intended information, while “ratio is very down” is not a natural way to describe a small share. There are also frequent spelling and word-form problems, including “interesrted,” “undergratuate” and “satifaction.” Build a reliable set of chart-description phrases, such as “accounted for,” “the largest proportion” and “were satisfied with,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You make an effort to write longer sentences and use comparisons, but control of sentence structure is inconsistent. The opening, “The chart and table illustrates,” has subject–verb disagreement, and “five varieties of library students most of the students…” joins ideas without a workable grammatical structure. In “The percentage of postgraduate students is 25% compare to the who are studing udergraduate,” the comparison is incomplete and the verb form is incorrect. Several sentences also lack clear clause boundaries, making it difficult to identify which figures belong to which categories. Practise accurate simple sentences first—for example, “Full-time undergraduates made up 44% of users”—then combine them with controlled clauses using “while” or “whereas.”
