Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both visuals and give a clear overview: undergraduates form the largest user group, academic staff the smallest, and staff helpfulness receives the strongest satisfaction ratings. Most figures are accurately reported, including the user-group shares and the 65% satisfaction with opening hours. This meets the task well, with some of the comparison and detail expected at a stronger level already present. However, the overview is partly unclear: “people some people is not happy with availability of less journals” does not precisely identify the relatively high dissatisfaction with journals. Also, “full time undergraduates spend most time in a library” confuses the largest user category with time spent there. Describe them as the largest group, and make the overview’s comparisons more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction and overview are followed by a paragraph on user categories and one on satisfaction. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the two visuals. However, progression within sentences is sometimes disrupted by faulty or mechanical linking. For example, “while least users are the academic stuff members” and “Whereas, part time postgraduate add up 16%” leave relationships between points awkward or incomplete. The satisfaction paragraph also moves from staff helpfulness to opening hours, journals, wi-fi and books without a clear grouping. Use complete comparison sentences and organise the table details—for example, strongest ratings first, then areas with more dissatisfaction—to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “satisfaction,” “unsatisfied,” “reliability” and “ranked last,” and the reader can generally identify the categories and services being discussed. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision. “Academic stuff members” and “helpfulness of stuff” appear to mean academic staff and library staff, while “spend most time in a library” does not accurately describe the largest user category. Phrases such as “contributes 7%,” “bad review” and “very satisfied outcome” are also unnatural in this context. Aim for standard chart language such as “accounted for,” “dissatisfied respondents” and “rated very satisfied,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple statements and longer sentences, including comparisons between user groups and satisfaction categories. Some sentence patterns communicate the figures successfully, such as “The full time undergraduates are considerably high about 44% while full time postgraduates students are 25%.” However, errors in agreement, articles, sentence boundaries and clause construction recur and sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. For example, “The chart and table illustrates” has subject–verb disagreement, and “while least users are the academic stuff members” is missing an article and has an unclear construction. The sentence beginning “The helpfulness of stuff recorded highest figure” also needs clearer grammatical framing. Practise accurate comparative structures and proofread each sentence for a complete subject and verb.
