Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, followed by full-time postgraduates at 25%, and you report the smaller categories correctly. You also select useful satisfaction comparisons, especially the 95% very satisfied with staff and the 65% with opening hours. This covers both visuals and gives a relevant overview. However, the overview is quite general, and the satisfaction data are not always reported precisely: the final sentence gives 50% very satisfied with wi-fi, whereas the table shows 48%. The response would be stronger with a clearer overall comparison across satisfaction categories—for example, staff satisfaction is highest, while journals receive the largest dissatisfied share—and more precise reporting of the wi-fi figure.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction and overview are followed by the user categories and then satisfaction results. This makes the two visuals easy to distinguish, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Additionally,” and “Furthermore” help signal progression. At times, however, the links feel repetitive or mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Additionally.” The long sentence beginning “Furthermore, 50% and 45%...” also combines several figures without clearly separating books from journals, so readers must work to track which percentages belong to each item. Use shorter, parallel comparisons and clearer references, such as “For books…” and “For journals…,” to make the progression more controlled.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough task-related vocabulary to describe the visuals, including “proportions,” “categories,” “satisfied,” and “reliability.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “hold a significant proportion.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise: “25% ratio” is better expressed as “25%,” and “users of library” would be more naturally phrased as “library users.” Spelling errors such as “leanring,” “staf,” “faily,” and “witht” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural chart language and proofread carefully; a modest range is already present, but more consistent control is needed for greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the comparison in “where as, full-time postgraduates are second most users…” and the longer sentence grouping satisfaction figures. The main information remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. The opening needs subject–verb agreement (“The chart and table illustrate”), and phrases such as “the second most users” and “35% users” need more accurate noun phrasing. There are also issues with articles and sentence construction, particularly in the overview and the long comparison sentence. To improve, check agreement, articles, and plural forms, and divide multi-part comparisons into shorter sentences with a clear grammatical structure.
