Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, the largest share, and you report the other user categories accurately. You also select relevant satisfaction findings, including the 95% very-satisfied figure for staff helpfulness and the 20% dissatisfied figure for journals. However, the overview is not fully reliable: saying journals have “more than enough unsatisfied users” is vague, and the comparison with books is not clearly framed. Several important contrasts are omitted, such as opening hours having 65% very satisfied and no dissatisfied users, and wi-fi having 19% dissatisfied. Develop the overview around the strongest patterns, then report selected figures precisely and avoid unclear claims such as “most average satisfied.”
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories, and a paragraph on satisfaction. This makes the two visual elements easy to distinguish, and linking phrases such as “Overall,” “By comparison,” and “Moreover” help signal relationships. The progression is generally logical, but some connections are awkward or unclear. For example, “Whereas the Part-time postgraduate…” is not a complete sentence, and “the remaining fairly satisfied users range comes between 5-40%” makes the comparison difficult to follow. The overview also combines two findings without explaining their relationship. Use complete, focused sentences and group satisfaction data by meaningful contrasts to make cohesion more natural and precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “category,” “satisfaction,” “percentage,” and “recorded,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “a wealth of library users” and “more than enough from 25%” do not express the intended numerical comparison, while “most average satisfied users” is unclear. There are also spelling errors in “undegraduates,” “avalibility,” and “remaning,” and “satisfaction user” is not a natural phrase. Prefer straightforward, accurate language such as “accounted for,” “compared with,” and “the highest proportion of users were very satisfied.” Check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex forms, including the contrast introduced by “while” and the clause beginning “which is more than enough.” Most of the intended meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. “Full time undegraduates is” has a plural subject with a singular verb, and “Whereas the Part-time postgraduate…” is a dependent clause presented as a sentence. In “the remaining fairly satisfied users range comes between 5-40%,” the sentence structure is difficult to parse. There are also inconsistent article and number patterns, as in “the highest satisfaction” and “the not satisfied users count.” Build comparisons in complete clauses and check subject–verb agreement, sentence boundaries, and noun phrases.
