Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify two relevant headline features: full-time undergraduates are the largest user group, at 44%, and staff helpfulness has the highest satisfaction result. You also report the 25% figure for full-time postgraduates and the 7% figure for academic staff accurately. However, the response addresses only a small part of the task: it omits the other user categories and gives no figures or comparisons for most of the satisfaction table. The overview is therefore incomplete, and there is no summary of the main satisfaction patterns. The response is also 76 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to cover the data. Include a fuller overview and select key figures from both visuals.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic, recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview beginning with “Overall,” and a paragraph reporting user-category figures. This gives the reader some sense of progression, and “followed by” appropriately signals a comparison. However, the organisation is incomplete because the satisfaction table is not developed in a separate section, and the final paragraph stops after only a few details. Some linking is mechanical or imprecise, as in “At the beginning of the chart,” which does not clearly describe a ranking. Develop a logical sequence that covers both visuals, grouping related figures and using clear transitions between the user profile and satisfaction results.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “accounted for,” “largest share,” “figures,” and “satisfaction,” and the meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or awkward: “table chart” is redundant, “higher institutaion” is not a natural description of a university, and “total figure” is vague when describing a percentage. There are also spelling errors in “provied” and “institutaion,” which reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Use precise terms such as “table,” “university,” “proportion,” and “percentage,” and vary the language used to compare categories and satisfaction levels.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You produce some understandable simple sentences and attempt a more developed overview with “Overall, it is clear that…”. However, grammatical control is uneven. In “Full-time undergraduate made up the largest share,” the plural category label needs a plural verb or a singular noun phrase; “the smallest Academic staff with 7%” is a sentence fragment; and “the total number” is not well integrated into the sentence. Capitalisation after a full stop is also inconsistent in “the smallest.” Most sentences follow simple patterns, so the response shows limited structural variety. Build complete sentences for each comparison and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
