Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify both parts of the visual and report several figures accurately, including the 44% share for full-time undergraduates, the 65% satisfaction with opening hours, and the 95% satisfaction with staff helpfulness. However, the task is only partially covered: there is no clear overview of the main patterns, and the final two categories—availability of books and journals—are not discussed. Some comparisons are also vague: saying other user groups have an “average percentage” does not show that academic staff and distance learners are the smallest groups, at 7% and 8%. Add a concise overview and select the most notable highs, lows, and contrasts across both visuals.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces the two topics, discusses user categories in one paragraph, and then turns to satisfaction results. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “In addition” help signal movement between points. However, the progression within the satisfaction paragraph is less complete because books and journals are omitted, and some links feel mechanical rather than showing meaningful comparisons. The opening also promises to discuss both topics but does not provide an overview of their main findings. Organise the report around a brief overview followed by clearly grouped details, and use comparison language to connect related figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “full-time undergraduate,” “availability,” “reliability,” and “fairly satisfied,” so the reader can generally identify the categories and measures. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which makes parts of the report awkward: “categories of library user,” “collabrates with 44%,” and “average percentage” do not express the intended comparisons clearly. There are also spelling errors such as “satisfication” and “Furthurmore.” Aim for precise reporting verbs and comparison phrases, and check spelling and word forms. This will make the information easier to understand without changing the underlying data.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response includes mostly simple sentence patterns, with a few attempts to combine ideas using “Moreover” and “In addition.” Meaning is usually recoverable, but frequent errors in sentence construction and agreement make several statements difficult to follow. For example, “Library opening hours satisfied with 65%” lacks a clear grammatical subject and verb, while “helpfulness of staff is very satisfied” incorrectly makes the service itself the person experiencing satisfaction. The sentence beginning “Full-time postgraduate has less percentage” also has an awkward comparison structure. Practise complete clauses such as “65% of respondents were very satisfied with the opening hours,” and vary these with accurate comparative sentences.
