Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several relevant figures, including the largest user group (full-time undergraduates, 44%) and high satisfaction with staff helpfulness (95%). However, some data are misreported: academic staff account for 7%, not 8%, and distance learners are 8%, not 7%. The response also does not give a clear overall summary of the main patterns across both visuals. It reports selected satisfaction figures, but gives limited comparison of the categories—for example, it does not clearly highlight that no respondents were dissatisfied with opening hours or staff helpfulness, while dissatisfaction was highest for journals. These omissions and inaccuracies leave the task only partly addressed. Organise the key features around an overview, then support it with accurate comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response follows a broadly sensible order by describing the user categories before moving to satisfaction, and phrases such as “The table shows” help signal the change in visual. However, the information is largely presented as one continuous block, with no clear paragraphing or distinct overview. Several comparisons are difficult to follow, particularly “Part-time postgraudate and full-time postgradute both value is samll from full-time undergraduate and greater from the previous two category.” The repeated use of “and” and “which” also makes relationships between figures unclear. Group related data into paragraphs and use explicit comparison links such as “whereas,” “by contrast,” and “in comparison.” This would create clearer progression and reduce the impression of a list of figures.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “satisfaction,” “availability,” “reliability,” and “category,” so the reader can recognise the subject of the report. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning awkward, such as “most visitor,” “lowest value of university library,” and “satisfaction comparision.” Spelling errors—including “reprsents,” “acdameic,” and “staisfied”—are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Aim for precise, natural phrases for describing proportions and rankings, and check spelling carefully. For example, “accounted for” or “represented” is more suitable than repeatedly using “have” to introduce a percentage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts longer sentences and comparisons, but many are difficult to interpret because of frequent errors in sentence structure and agreement. For example, “Full time undergradute is most visitor of the library at a university has 44% users” combines clauses without a clear grammatical link, while “both value is samll” has incorrect agreement. Articles and plural forms are also often missing or inaccurate, as in “the lowest value” and “different type of categories.” Most sentences rely on simple patterns or become faulty when extended, which limits clarity. Build shorter, complete sentences first, then add controlled comparisons. Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and plural nouns when revising.
