Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates make up 44%, while academic staff (7%) and distance learners (8%) are the smallest groups. The overview also highlights the strongest satisfaction result—helpfulness of staff—and the comparatively high dissatisfaction with journals and Wi-Fi. These are relevant main features. However, coverage of the table is uneven: opening hours, books’ very-satisfied result, and the full satisfaction pattern for journals and Wi-Fi are not reported. The phrase “the least were used by part time postgraduate 16%” also misidentifies the smallest category, since part-time postgraduates are not among the two smallest. More precise selection and comparison of the table’s figures would make the summary more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories, and one on satisfaction. This gives the reader a recognisable progression from the chart to the table, and linking phrases such as “Overall,” “On the other hand,” and “Moreover” help signal relationships. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “the least were used by part time postgraduate 16%, distance learning 8%, academic staff 7%” does not clearly express the ranking, and “the table present that” begins the final paragraph without a smooth link to the specific satisfaction comparisons. Use clearer comparison structures and ensure each paragraph develops its information in a logical order.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “accounted for,” “very satisfied,” and “availability,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range and control are limited by repeated wording such as “users,” “satisfied,” and “availability,” as well as several inaccurate or misspelled forms: “librray,” “satifdaction,” “learnig,” and “realiability.” Some collocations are also awkward, for example “the least were used by part time postgraduate” and “satisfied by the availability.” These choices sometimes make the meaning less precise, even though the main message remains understandable. Aim for accurate spelling and more natural reporting phrases, such as “accounted for the smallest share” and “were dissatisfied with.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast in “Overall, the graph show …, while …” and the clause beginning “while some of them are not satisfied.” The main ideas can usually be followed, but some grammatical errors recur. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent in “graph demonstrate,” “graph show,” and “the table present”; articles and plural forms are also missing or inaccurate in phrases such as “44% library users” and “95% user.” The sentence “By having a look at the pie chart, 44% library users were…” has an awkward introductory construction that does not attach clearly to the subject. Check agreement, articles, and sentence openings, and use a wider range of structures with more consistent control.
