Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several important features, including the largest user group (full-time undergraduates, 44%), the smallest (academic staff, 7%), and the high satisfaction with staff helpfulness. You also note that journals receive the highest dissatisfaction, at 20%. However, the response only partly summarises the two visuals: it gives little comparison across the satisfaction categories and omits key figures such as the 95% very satisfied with staff and the 65% very satisfied with opening hours. Some claims are unclear or inaccurate, such as saying library timings are beneficial “for everyone,” which overstates what the data show. A clearer overview of the main contrasts, supported by selected figures from both visuals, would make the report more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic sequence: it begins with a general overview, describes user categories, and then moves to satisfaction results. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, the progression is not consistently clear, and the two sets of data are not separated into well-defined paragraphs. Linking words such as “However,” “To initiate with,” and “Furthermore” are used, but some feel mechanical or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. The shift from user proportions to satisfaction is abrupt, and several statements are crowded together without clear grouping. Organise the response into an introduction and overview, followed by one paragraph on user categories and another on satisfaction, using comparisons to connect related figures.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “proportion,” “satisfaction,” “availability,” and “reliability,” and you attempt less common expressions such as “reveals” and “in the favour of.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “explicates the percentile of the student” is not a natural way to describe the chart, and “pay their least attention to library” does not accurately express that academic staff form the smallest user group. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “undegraduate,” “Morever,” “statisifed,” and “benifical.” Use precise chart language such as “accounts for,” “share,” and “very satisfied,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some complex sentence forms, including “Deep analysis of the given data reveals that…” and “Availability of journals has most cases about not satisfaction with 20%,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in articles, agreement, sentence boundaries, and punctuation occur frequently enough to make some statements hard to interpret. For instance, “the student that are studying in university” has problems with number and article use, while “Full-time undegraduate has highest proportion” lacks the article needed before “highest proportion.” Several sentences also run together without spaces after full stops, and the construction “nobody is not satisfied” creates a confusing double negative. Practise accurate simple comparisons first, then add subordinate clauses while checking agreement, articles, and punctuation.
