Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main user group and the smallest group, and your overview also highlights strong satisfaction with staff and lower satisfaction with journals. Most figures are reported accurately. However, there is an important category error: the largest group is “full-time undergraduate” users, not “full-time graduates.” The table discussion also says “65% of students are satisfied” with opening hours, although 65% are specifically very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied. Your overview is relevant, but the comparison of satisfaction levels could be clearer—for example, staff helpfulness has the highest very-satisfied figure, while opening hours has no dissatisfied users. These inaccuracies and the uneven development of the table’s key comparisons limit how fully the main features are conveyed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories and a paragraph on satisfaction. This makes the information easy to follow, and linking phrases such as “Overall,” “Meanwhile” and “On the other hand” help signal relationships. However, some connections are awkward or repetitive. “On the other hand” is used where a direct contrast is not always needed, and the final paragraph combines several satisfaction categories in a long sentence, making the comparisons less clear. The reference “this” in “not satisfied with this” is also vague because it refers to several different services. Grouping the table results more deliberately and using clearer references would make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “categories,” “accounted for,” “proportion” and “satisfied,” so the reader can understand the main information. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems reduce precision. “Most number of users” is not natural English, while “full-time graduates” changes the meaning of the chart label. “Past-time postgraduates” is also an inaccurate form of the category name, and “libary” and “illustares” are misspelled. Repetition of “users,” “satisfied” and “most” makes the report less flexible. Aim to use accurate chart labels and a wider set of precise expressions for proportions and satisfaction levels.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including the overview sentence beginning “Overall” and the contrast introduced by “While.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “most number of library users are” has an incorrect noun phrase and agreement pattern, and “a library users” in the introduction has an article and plural mismatch. The sentence beginning “While, most of readers…” is not a complete, well-punctuated sentence, and “their are” should be “there are.” There are also missing spaces before brackets and inconsistent punctuation. Practise accurate articles, subject–verb agreement and complete sentence structures, especially when combining several comparisons.
