Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the two sources of information and include several relevant figures, such as 44% for full-time undergraduates and 95% satisfaction with staff helpfulness. However, the response only partially summarises the data: it gives no clear overview of the main patterns and omits the full-time postgraduate figure (25%). Some figures are misreported or assigned unclearly: opening-hours satisfaction is 65% very satisfied, not 75%, and the final figures are presented without distinguishing which satisfaction category they represent. The response also does not compare the categories systematically. To improve, state the largest user group and the strongest and weakest satisfaction results, then report accurate comparisons across both visuals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has separate paragraphs for an introduction, an overview attempt, and details, so there is some basic organisation. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the overview does not clearly summarise the main features, and the final paragraph combines several satisfaction measures without explaining their relationships. Connectors such as “Overall” and “on the other hand” are used, but the contrast introduced by the latter is not clearly developed. References such as “other element” and “other public” also leave the reader unsure which groups or figures are meant. Organise the response into a clear overview followed by focused paragraphs, and use linking phrases to show precise comparisons.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “full-time undergraduate,” “distance learning,” “availability of books,” and “reliability of wi-fi.” This shows a basic ability to describe the chart and table. However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or awkward expressions make the information harder to understand, such as “the element are showing,” “other element,” and “the quality what there are getting.” Spelling errors, including “partr-time,” “cademic,” and “toher,” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise set of chart-description phrases, such as “accounted for,” “the largest proportion,” and “respondents were very satisfied,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, but grammatical control is weak and errors frequently affect clarity. For example, “The given pie chart and table are illustrates” combines incompatible verb forms, while “the element are showing” has subject–verb disagreement. Articles and sentence structure are also problematic in “working as a academic staff” and “the student and the worker are give the feedback.” The overview sentence beginning “While” is incomplete, and punctuation around the final list is inconsistent. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, especially subject–verb agreement and verb forms, then combine ideas with correctly formed clauses. Clear, complete sentences will make the data easier to follow.
