Overall, pie chart had five categories of library users and full-time undergraduate had the highest proportion than others, while academic staff had the least. Whereas, part-time postgraduate was double of the distance learning. The table had three satisfaction levels and the figure for helpfulness of staff in satisfaction was higher than the others. Availabilty of books and reliability of wi-fi had lower not satisfied library users. In pie chart, full-time undergraduate accounted for 44% users that was higher as compared to other categories. Full-time postgraduate and part-time postgraduate had 25% and 16% respectively. Meanwhile, distance learning constituted 8% which was half of the part time postgraduate. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the main user groups and correctly report the key proportions: full-time undergraduates are the largest group at 44%, while academic staff are the smallest at 7%. You also note that part-time postgraduate users are twice the distance-learning group. However, the response is incomplete: it stops after “In” and gives almost no figures or comparisons from the satisfaction table, despite this being a major part of the task. The overview mentions staff helpfulness and lower dissatisfaction for books and wi-fi, but does not develop these points with data. The response is also 21 words below the 150-word minimum. To improve, complete the table summary and compare its strongest and weakest satisfaction results.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response, beginning with an introduction and overview before moving to details about user categories. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Meanwhile,” and “Whereas” show an effort to connect ideas. However, progression is limited because the table is only briefly mentioned in the overview and never discussed in a developed paragraph; the final “In” also leaves the response abruptly unfinished. Some connections are awkward or repetitive, such as repeating the comparison between the postgraduate and distance-learning groups. Use separate, complete paragraphs for the user categories and satisfaction table, and ensure each paragraph develops a clear main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “accounted for,” “constituted,” and “satisfaction levels,” and these choices generally make the topic clear. There is some variation in how the figures are described. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “had the highest proportion than others,” “the figure for helpfulness of staff in satisfaction,” and “lower not satisfied library users.” “Availabilty” and “othes” are also misspelled, while “pie chart” is repeated frequently. Aim for precise chart language and check spelling; for example, describe a category as “accounting for” a share and refer to the “proportion of users who were dissatisfied.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “while” and a comparison using “which was half of.” However, errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “The pie chart and table illustrates” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “full-time undergraduate had the highest proportion than others” has an incorrectly formed comparison. The sentence beginning “Whereas” is a fragment, and “full-time undergraduate accounted for 44% users” is missing an article or preposition. The unfinished final sentence further affects accuracy. Practise complete sentence structures, agreement, articles, and comparative forms, then proofread each sentence for completeness.
