Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You report most of the figures accurately, including the largest user group (full-time undergraduates, 44%) and the high satisfaction with staff helpfulness (95%). However, the response mainly lists data rather than selecting and summarising the main features. It lacks a clear overview—for example, that undergraduates form the largest group, while academic staff are the smallest, and that satisfaction is generally strongest for staff and opening hours but weaker for journals and Wi-Fi. There is also a factual error: for Wi-Fi, 33% are described as “very satisfied,” although this figure is for fairly satisfied users. The closing statement does not add a meaningful summary. To improve, give an overview and compare the most notable results rather than reporting every category in sequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall order: it first describes the user categories and then moves to the satisfaction table. This helps the reader identify which visual is being discussed. However, the information is presented in two dense blocks, with little paragraphing or signposting within the long list of satisfaction results. Repeated openings such as “there is” and “are very satisfied” make the progression mechanical, while the final sentence (“i have come to the end…”) does not function as a useful conclusion. Use a short introduction, a distinct overview, and separate body paragraphs for the chart and the most important table comparisons. Linking phrases such as “By contrast” or “The lowest satisfaction was recorded for…” would make relationships clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “categories,” “satisfaction,” “availability,” “helpfulness,” and “reliability,” so the reader can understand the subject matter. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “uses of the library” and “different library satisfaction.” “Bar chat” is an inaccurate spelling of “bar chart,” and “representation of the chat below” is not a natural way to refer to the visuals. More precise reporting language would help you compare results rather than simply repeat labels. For example, describe a group as “accounting for” a percentage, or say that a satisfaction rating “was highest for” a service. Check spelling and choose natural collocations when referring to charts and survey findings.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Most of the response uses simple sentence patterns, and the figures are generally understandable despite frequent errors. There are attempts to connect information, but punctuation and sentence boundaries are often missing: “full time undergraduate there is 44%uses…” runs several ideas together. Articles and agreement are also problematic in phrases such as “At the academic staff” and “95% are very satisfied,” where it would be clearer to state that users gave this rating. Capitalisation is inconsistent, including the opening “on” and the final “i.” Build accurate sentences with a subject and verb, for example, “Full-time undergraduates account for 44% of users.” Use full stops between data points and check spacing around percentages and punctuation.
