Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates account for the largest share (44%), while academic staff are the smallest (7%). You also report several satisfaction figures, including 20% not satisfied with journal availability and the very-satisfied results for books, journals and wi-fi. However, the overview contains a major contradiction: it says nobody was satisfied with opening hours or staff helpfulness, although the table shows 65% and 95% very satisfied, respectively. The response also gives limited coverage of the table and does not clearly summarise its strongest overall pattern, such as staff helpfulness receiving the highest satisfaction and no dissatisfaction for either staff or opening hours. Select and compare the key features more accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to user categories and then satisfaction data. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression is limited, and the overview does not reliably guide the details that follow; its claim that nobody was satisfied conflicts with the figures later discussed. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “Besides this” are used, but some connections are unclear or mechanical, and the final paragraph combines several figures without explaining their significance. Group related comparisons more clearly—for example, present the user proportions together, then compare satisfaction across the five services—and use linking phrases to show meaningful contrasts rather than simply adding information.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “proportion,” “percentage,” “satisfied,” and “categories,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “consequences of a survey” does not describe the information shown; “results” or “findings” would be appropriate. “Maximum percentage of library used” is also unclear, and “were used library” is not a natural way to describe the user shares. Spelling errors such as “avalibility,” “jounals,” and “availbility” further reduce clarity. Aim for precise chart language, such as “accounted for,” “made up,” and “respondents were satisfied with.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons introduced by “while” and “whereas.” However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to interpret. The opening sentence lacks a space after the full stop and has an incomplete construction: “The data has been given in percentage.” In “only 16% part time postgraduates were used library,” the verb form and sentence structure are faulty; write, for example, “Part-time postgraduates made up 16% of library users.” There are also problems with articles, agreement and punctuation, including “In university” and missing spaces after commas. Practise building accurate sentences around a clear subject and verb, and check punctuation and article use before submitting.
