Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates make up the largest share at 44%, followed by full-time postgraduates at 25%. You also report the remaining user categories correctly and highlight staff helpfulness as the strongest satisfaction result. However, the satisfaction overview is incomplete: the table also shows 65% very satisfied with opening hours, while journals have the highest dissatisfaction at 20%, compared with 19% for wi-fi. Saying users are least satisfied with journals is relevant, but it would be clearer to support this with the figures and compare it with other services. Several table categories are omitted, so the two parts of the task are not covered equally fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories and a final paragraph on satisfaction. This gives the reader a generally coherent route through the information. Linking phrases such as “Looking from an overall perspective,” “Followed by this” and “Also” help connect points, although some transitions feel mechanical or do not clearly show the comparison being made. The satisfaction details are grouped together, but the paragraph moves between the highest result, the lowest result and individual figures without a consistent order. Organising the table from strongest satisfaction to weakest, or by service, would make progression clearer. Use paragraph breaks and spacing consistently to make the sections easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “account,” “satisfaction level” and “availability,” and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing chart data. “Library consumers” is less suitable than “library users,” while “the average information of satisfied library user” does not clearly describe the table. Phrases such as “show less ratio” and “hold 25% contribution” also weaken precision. There are spelling errors, including “catogries,” “pastgraduate” and “avaiability.” Aim for accurate, conventional collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your descriptions more precise without requiring more elaborate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including an overview and comparisons, and most of the data can still be understood. However, grammatical control is uneven, and some sentence patterns are incomplete or awkward. For example, “Followed by this are the full-time postgraduate hold 25% contribution” combines two structures, while “Part-time postgraduate show less ratio” has problems with number agreement and sentence construction. Articles and plural forms are also inconsistent in phrases such as “user are highly satisfied” and “the fairly satisfied.” Punctuation is sometimes missing after figures, as in “16%.Distance learning.” Practise building clear subject–verb sentences, then check agreement, articles and punctuation before submitting.
