Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both visuals and identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates make up 44%, while academic staff account for only 7%. You also highlight the strongest satisfaction result, staff helpfulness at 95%, and the comparatively high dissatisfaction with journals and wi-fi. This gives the response a relevant overview and a range of supporting figures. However, some comparisons are unclear or incomplete: the statement that opening hours had “no negative feedback” is accurate, but the table also shows 35% were only fairly satisfied. The overview’s claim that journals and wi-fi had “low satisfaction” is imprecise, since their very-satisfied figures are 45% and 48%. Develop the overview with clearer comparisons across all satisfaction categories and report the less positive results more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories, and one on satisfaction. This makes the two visuals easy to distinguish, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “In contrast,” and “However” help signal comparisons. Some connections are nevertheless mechanical or unclear. For example, “However with satisfaction helpfulness staff were very satisfied” does not clearly identify the relationship between the category and the result, while “availability of journals and reliability of wi-fi recorded with low satisfaction respectively” leaves the comparison difficult to follow. The final paragraph also moves quickly between several table rows without a consistent pattern. Use clearer topic sentences and compare the satisfaction results in a deliberate order, such as highest to lowest satisfaction.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportions,” “accounted for,” “dissatisfaction,” and “negative feedback,” and you attempt to vary the language used to describe the figures. However, inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable throughout, including “diffrent,” “liabrary,” “taple,” and “helpfiness.” Some collocations are also unnatural: “accounted with high level users,” “recorded with low satisfaction,” and “availability of books recorded with 50%” make the intended meaning less precise. Choose standard chart-reporting phrases such as “accounted for,” “stood at,” and “the proportion of users who were very satisfied.” Careful proofreading of spelling and more accurate collocations would make your vocabulary clearer and more appropriate for an academic summary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer comparative sentences, and the response is generally understandable. However, grammatical control is uneven, particularly in sentence construction and verb patterns. For example, “full time undergraduate students accounted with high level users” lacks a clear grammatical relationship, and “the proportion of academic staff and distance learning as low” is missing a suitable verb. In “availability of books recorded with 50% and fairly satisfied level,” the structure does not clearly express who gave that rating. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and punctuation, such as the lower-case sentence beginning “part time postgraduate.” Practise building accurate comparison sentences with patterns such as “X accounted for…” and “Y was rated…,” then check each sentence for a complete subject and verb.
