Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates account for the largest share (44%), while academic staff are the smallest (7%). You also attempt an overview of satisfaction, but the claim that students were “lowest satisfied with reliability of using WI-FI” is not supported: wi-fi has 48% very satisfied, whereas journals have the highest dissatisfaction at 20%. The table is only briefly described, and “Most of the student is satisfied with facility” does not report the key contrasts, such as staff helpfulness receiving 95% very satisfied or opening hours receiving 65%. Some category labels are also misrepresented: the chart includes distance learners, not “all courses students.” Select and compare the most notable figures more accurately and develop the table summary.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the chart and table. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression is limited because the final table paragraph gives only a general statement rather than organising or comparing the satisfaction results. Linking is also sometimes mechanical or unclear, as in “While in the table show…” and “after that all courses student ratio…”. The repeated use of “show” and “student” makes the account feel repetitive, while the relationship between the categories is not always clear. Grouping the user figures from largest to smallest, then comparing the strongest and weakest satisfaction results, would create a clearer progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “percentage,” “categories,” “satisfied,” and “reliability,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “ratio” is used for percentages, “improve in percentage” does not describe the chart, and “student who frequently use library” is an awkward description of the surveyed users. “All courses students” also mislabels distance learners. Repeated reliance on “show” and “student” restricts precision. Use standard chart language such as “accounted for,” “share,” “proportion,” and “rated,” and distinguish clearly between user categories and satisfaction ratings.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer sentence forms, including “Overall, in the pie chart show that…” and clauses beginning with “while,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur frequently in verb forms and agreement: “The illustrate represent,” “the first information show,” and “full-time undergraduate student have” all need corrected subjects and verbs. Articles and plurals are also often missing or mismatched, as in “a total five categories” and “Most of the student is satisfied.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention; for example, “which ratio is 44 and academic staff student have lowest ration which is 7.after that…” runs several ideas together. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses and check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
