Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several important figures, including the largest user group (full-time undergraduates, 44%), the smallest (academic staff, 7%), and the highest satisfaction result (staff helpfulness, 95%). However, the response only partially summarises the visuals: it gives no clear overview of the main satisfaction pattern and omits the figures for fairly and not satisfied across most categories. The statement that journals are “the least satisfied by 45%” is misleading: 45% is the very-satisfied share, while 20% were not satisfied, the highest dissatisfaction figure. The response also contains only 103 words, below the required 150, so the comparisons and key features remain underdeveloped. Include a fuller overview and compare the satisfaction results accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has some organisation: it first mentions the user categories and then moves to satisfaction, and it includes a few linking expressions such as “on the other hand” and “however.” However, the progression is not consistently clear. The opening overview is followed by a series of figures without a developed comparison, and “In pie chart” does not clearly connect the user-group data to the next point. Some connectors are used inaccurately or mechanically, particularly “Although” at the start of the final sentence, where no contrasting clause follows. Separate the two visuals into clear paragraphs, provide an overview before the details, and use links such as “By contrast” only when the relationship between figures genuinely contrasts.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “full time undergraduate,” “availability of books,” and “opening hours,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning unclear. For example, “satisfactions categories” is not a natural description, and “used 44% of library” confuses the proportion of users with the amount of library used. “Least satisfied by 45%” also mislabels the satisfaction measure. Spelling errors such as “helpfullness” and “realibility” are noticeable. Use precise reporting language such as “accounted for,” “were very satisfied with,” and “the proportion of users,” and check spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most sentences are short and simple, with limited evidence of controlled complex structures. Attempts to link ideas sometimes produce faulty sentence patterns: “Although, they are 65% satisfied…” uses an incomplete concessive structure, while “helpfullness of staff are most satisfied” has an incorrect subject–verb relationship and construction. There are also recurring problems with articles, plurals, and punctuation, as in “used 44% of library” and the missing spaces after full stops in “95%.But” and “16%.Distance.” These errors do not prevent the reader from identifying many figures, but they make the report less clear and polished. Practise accurate comparative sentences and use complete clauses with consistent punctuation.
