Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both visuals and identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, while academic staff make up the smallest group at 7%. You also report several satisfaction figures correctly, including the 95% very satisfied with staff helpfulness and the 20% not satisfied with journal availability. Your overview identifies the strongest and weakest areas, but “least at availability of journals” is imprecise because journals have the lowest very-satisfied share, whereas wi-fi has the highest dissatisfaction (19%, compared with 20% for journals—so journals are marginally higher). Some comparisons are compressed or unclear, and the table’s zero dissatisfaction for opening hours and staff could be highlighted more clearly. Select and compare the key patterns more explicitly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories, and a final paragraph on satisfaction. This gives the reader a coherent route through both visuals. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “Looking at the pie chart,” and “According to table” help signal the sections, although the transitions are somewhat mechanical. Within the final paragraph, several figures are placed together in a long sequence, making it harder to see which satisfaction levels belong to which category. Use separate sentences or clearer grouping—for example, discuss books and journals together, then wi-fi—and ensure each comparison has an explicit subject. More consistent punctuation and paragraph development would make the progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “represented,” “followed by,” “very satisfied,” and “not satisfied,” and you distinguish the user categories and satisfaction measures. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, as in “liberay,” “illstarate,” “undergardute,” and “satisfactied.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “are accounted at 16%,” “are made up of 8% percent,” and “satisfaction level helpfulness of staff amount most” obscure otherwise relevant information. Aim for accurate, conventional reporting expressions such as “accounted for,” “made up,” and “the highest proportion of users were very satisfied.” Check spelling carefully and avoid repeating “percent” after using the % symbol.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the main figures can generally be understood. However, there are some recurring errors in sentence structure and agreement. The opening sentence has a plural subject but uses “shows,” while “Overall chart illstarate…” lacks a clear article and complete grammatical structure. In “Part time postgraduate are accounted at 16%,” the plural noun phrase needs a determiner or clearer construction, and the verb pattern is incorrect. The final paragraph also joins several independent ideas with limited punctuation, as in the sequence beginning “Availability of books and journals…”. Use complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and separate the table comparisons into shorter, accurately punctuated statements.
