Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both visuals and identify the main user group accurately: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, while academic staff make up the smallest share at 7%. You also select relevant satisfaction contrasts, including the 95% very satisfied with staff helpfulness and the 20% not satisfied with journal availability. However, the overview is partly unclear: “vice versa” does not accurately describe the satisfaction results, and the claim that users are “lest satisfy” with journals needs to distinguish the lowest very-satisfied figure from the highest dissatisfaction figure. Some table details are omitted, such as the 50% very satisfied with books and the 35% fairly satisfied with opening hours. More precise comparisons and a clearer overview would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the chart and table. This makes the two sources easy to follow, and linking phrases such as “Overall,” “On the other hand,” and “Moreover” help signal relationships. The progression is generally logical, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Moreover” introduces the smallest user categories, while “vice versa” in the overview does not make the intended comparison clear. The table paragraph also moves quickly between opening hours, staff, journals, and wi-fi without consistently comparing the satisfaction categories. Use more precise links and group related comparisons to strengthen the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “proportion,” “satisfaction,” “availability,” and “reliability,” and you attempt to describe proportions and rankings. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the report less precise. Phrases such as “one quater,” “top of the list,” and “lowest sarisfied percentage” are either inaccurate or unnatural for describing survey data. There are also repeated spelling errors, including “availabity,” “acadmic,” and “hightest.” Aim to use standard chart language consistently, such as “accounted for,” “the highest proportion,” and “the lowest satisfaction rating,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “Although” and sentences beginning with “Moreover.” However, grammatical control is uneven, and errors sometimes make relationships difficult to interpret. Examples include “full-time undergraduate have,” which needs subject–verb agreement, and “the proportion of satisfaction user,” where the noun phrase is not formed correctly. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “In the pie chart, lessthen two quater around 44%” is a fragment, while “In the table, library opening house…” lacks appropriate punctuation and grammatical framing. Practise complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and punctuation when editing.
