Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main user group correctly: full-time undergraduates account for 44%, and you report the other user categories with accurate figures. You also select several notable satisfaction results, including the 95% very satisfied with staff helpfulness and the 20% not satisfied with journals. However, the response only partly covers the table: reliability of wi-fi is omitted, and the overview does not clearly summarise the strongest and weakest satisfaction patterns across the services. Some figures are also described imprecisely; for example, the 45% for journals is very satisfied, rather than simply “satisfied.” Develop a clear overview and compare the services more systematically to make the report more complete and focused.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic, understandable structure: the opening paragraph introduces the two visuals and describes user categories, while the second reports satisfaction results. Sequencing within the user-category description is generally clear, and words such as “Furthermore,” “However,” and “Also” show attempts to connect ideas. However, the second paragraph moves between services without a consistent comparison or clear grouping, and the wi-fi result is left out. Some links are awkward or unclear, particularly “The highest number of people 95% are satisfied…” and “50%, 40% and 10% are satisfied to not satisfied respectively.” Use a clearer progression, such as grouping the most positive and less positive services, and make each comparison explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing charts, including “percentages,” “dominated by,” “contributing,” and “respectively,” so the reader can understand the main subject and many comparisons. However, the range is limited and several word-choice or spelling problems reduce precision. “Proportions of a report” is not a natural description of the chart, and “people satisfied by the services” is less appropriate than language describing satisfaction with services. There are also errors such as “propotions,” “availabilty,” and “staffs”; in this context, “staff” is normally uncountable. Aim for accurate chart language and natural collocations, and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for satisfaction levels would also help distinguish “very satisfied” from “fairly satisfied.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the meaning is usually recoverable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, with frequent errors in agreement, articles, sentence boundaries, and clause construction. For example, “The chart and the table illustrates” has a plural subject but a singular verb, while “different type of users” needs a plural noun and an article or determiner. The sentence beginning “The highest number of people 95%…” lacks clear punctuation between its clauses, and “50%, 40% and 10% are satisfied to not satisfied respectively” does not form a clear grammatical comparison. Practise building complete sentences around each service and checking subject–verb agreement and punctuation.
