Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the two visuals and report several accurate figures from the user-category chart, including 44% for full-time undergraduates, 25% for full-time postgraduates, and 7% for academic staff. However, the response only partially reports the satisfaction table: it begins with opening hours and staff helpfulness but ends before giving the comparisons for books, journals, or Wi-Fi. The overview is also imprecise: “students who still enrolled” and people who “already obtained their degrees” are not categories shown by the data, and distance learners are not simply students “who studies online.” To improve, give a clear overview of the largest and smallest user groups and the strongest and weakest satisfaction results, then support it with accurate comparisons across both visuals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response introduces the visuals, gives an overview, discusses user categories, and then turns to satisfaction. This provides a basic sequence that readers can follow. However, progression is incomplete because the final paragraph stops after introducing two satisfaction findings, leaving the table’s other categories unreported and the discussion unfinished. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “As we focus,” and “besides that” signal relationships, but some are awkward or do not lead to a complete point. Paragraphing could also make the two visual descriptions more distinct. Use a complete paragraph for the user breakdown and another for satisfaction, with clear comparisons and a concluding overview rather than an unfinished transition.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “categories,” “percentage,” “levels of satisfaction,” and “majority,” so the reader can recognise the subject of the report. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning unclear. For example, “questionnary,” “helpness,” and “satisfies” are not appropriate forms, while “the library rest opened” does not express the intended idea naturally. Phrases such as “the full time students covers the highest amount” are also imprecise for describing proportions. Build a more accurate set of chart-reporting expressions, such as “accounted for,” “the largest share,” and “were satisfied with,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and more extended sentences, including a sentence beginning “As we focus on the levels of satisfaction,” and uses some subordinate clauses. However, complex constructions are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently enough to make parts difficult to read. Examples include “The pie chart and the table illustrates,” “the majority are students who still enrolled,” and “the full time students covers.” The final sentence is also incomplete, ending with “besides that the.” Improve control by checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and by ensuring each sentence has a complete main clause. Shorter, accurately punctuated sentences would help make the comparisons clearer while you develop more complex structures.
