Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the development of the task. While you have attempted to identify some trends, the description is often inaccurate or confusing, such as stating that 'throughout the frame the numbers of closed shop is more than the opened shops', which contradicts the visual data. The overview is poorly defined and lacks a clear summary of the main features. To improve, ensure you accurately report the data points and provide a clear, concise summary of the overall trends observed in the graph.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a logical structure. It is written as a single, dense paragraph, which makes it difficult to follow. There is a lack of effective cohesive devices to link ideas; transitions are either missing or used incorrectly, such as 'furthermore' and 'similarly'. The progression of information is disjointed, and the lack of paragraphing makes the response feel unorganized. To improve, use clear paragraph breaks to separate your introduction, overview, and body paragraphs, and use linking words like 'in contrast', 'meanwhile', or 'subsequently' to guide the reader through your analysis.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and often misused. Phrases like 'digits of shops' instead of 'number of shops' and 'opening ratio' are inappropriate in this context. There is also a reliance on repetitive and imprecise language, such as 'at the beginning point' and 'at the last point'. The word choice often obscures the meaning of the data. To improve, focus on using precise terminology for describing graphs, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'declined', and 'surpassed'. Avoid using informal or non-standard phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that impede communication. Examples include 'dotted line represent as opening ratio' (subject-verb agreement), 'fluctuation are seemed' (passive voice error), and 'inversely proportion' (incorrect word form). The sentence structures are mostly simple and often contain errors in punctuation and capitalization. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles. Practice writing complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions like 'while' or 'although' to describe the trends more accurately.
