Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address the prompt by stating your position, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient detail. For instance, the mention of a '2019 survey' is vague and lacks context. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and logical explanations. The conclusion is also very brief and does not adequately summarize your position. Because the response is 73 words under the limit, it is penalized under Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In addition to this', the flow between sentences is often disjointed. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the two main body paragraphs is abrupt. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that ideas are linked more naturally. The overall structure is present but lacks the sophistication required for higher bands.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms such as 'important', 'learn', and 'things'. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'wastage of time' (should be 'a waste of time') and 'learn their all study' (which is non-standard). To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations related to education and child development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('schools is', 'survey conduct'), missing articles ('in children life'), and awkward sentence structures ('it’s very essential to playing games'). You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
